The Brain Centre Foundation

The Brain Centre is a firm believer of giving back to the society and does this through the non-profit Brain Centre Foundation, whose goals are:

• To raise the public’s education and awareness of brain health and common brain disorders such as brain tumors, brain cancer treatment, migraine, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and other brain abnormalities.

• To subsidize the cost of Deep Brain Stimulation and Gamma Knife radiosurgery, for the less fortunate patients.

• To sponsor Chinese orphans with medical care and neurosurgery through MedArt in Hong Kong and the New Hope Foundation in Beijing.

• To support research in Neuroscience.

The Brain Centre Foundation has in the past conducted public education forums on stroke, headache and Parkinson´s disease. The BCF also conducted a stroke survey in January 2001, with the purpose of assessing public knowledge and awareness regarding stroke, which is the third most common cause of death and disability in adults in Hong Kong.
