The non-invasive nature of MR angiography makes it an attractive alternative to conventional angiography for almost all patients. It can be safely performed in an outpatient basis. It can be performed without intravenous contrast by using inflow and phase contrast techniques or it can be performed with the help of intravenous contrast (Gadolinium compounds).
